Please make me aware of your preferred pronouns should you have them, and be sure to select which physical sex you have when booking.
Can I still be waxed on my period?
OMG YES! While I try to refrain from new waxing clients to have their first wax on the week prior or week of their menstrual cycle, it is for their benefit not mine. A tampon or a menstrual cup is required during waxing to prevent any contaminents in the space, but your cycle does not change my job! Please keep in mind that the week prior as well as the week of however can cause a little more discomfort due to the increase of blood flow and hormones. Making sure to take tylenol if safe (check with your medical professional) can ease this!
Is there a certain hair length to get waxed?
Yes! When you are initially starting your waxing journey you will want to come in with a minimum hair growth of 10-14 days. The hair must be 1/4 inch or the length of a tic-tac to be removed properly, while hair will still likely be able to be removed; the smooth results you're after may not be achieved. Long hair or lots of it also is not a problem, however some clients prefer to trim this prior to limit discomfort caused by stray hairs entering the wax strip.
Is there a rhyme or reason to spacing out waxes?
Also yes! When starting a waxing journey from the beginning or picking it back up you want to schedule your first three waxes 3 weeks apart. The reason for this is to get all of your hairs on the same growth cycle which make your results last longer! Most clients reach out right before their second appointment worried that there is not enough hair to be waxed. This is what we want! This is all the hair you had growing beneath your skin at your first wax finally coming through! The next wax in three weeks will likely be less as this is the hair that had only just started forming at your first appointment. After these initial 3 appointments you should notice longer lasting smoothness, more even regrowth, and the hairs will be much finer and sparce.
